The Game Awards 2014 Announcements Predictions

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

The first ever Game Awards is only days away and all we know are the nominees, but what about the announcements? If this follows the tradition of gaming award shows it will surely have announcements, especially with big name CEO’s on the advisory panel. So, we decided to make a few predictions on what we could possibly see announced, or shown at the event.

Xbox Drops Another Timed Exclusive

After the Tomb Raider 2 timed exclusive announcement at E3 fans were in shock. So it could very well be that Square-Enix and Microsoft teamed up again to announce another exclusive, or with another third-party developer entirely. Even if the announcement is not exclusive based, it could very well be the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox One.

Halo 5

Halo 5 information has been sparse since the short little reveals we have had so this is the perfect place to keep the title in everyone’s mind and show them that it still is coming. Even an open-beta announcement would pique the interest of many fans.

Beyond Good & Evil 2

Having Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot on the advisory panel leads me to believe that Ubisoft is announcing something (maybe) at The Game Awards. Other than inevitable trailers for Rainbow Six and other upcoming titles. The one that would stick out for many fans would be a solid announcement for Beyond Good & Evil 2.

Silent Hills Gameplay

We already know that Kojima will be bringing Metal Gear Online to the show, but who is to say we wont have two reveals from the acclaimed creator. Time will tell, but here’s hoping since the game is set to release in 2015.

Nintendo Drops Another Exclusive

After the critical success and nomination of Bayonetta 2 for Game Of The Year at the awards, one would expect Nintendo to come out swinging. Nintendo could always pick up another beloved series, or use this as a chance to show off the new Zelda Wii U title that fans have been waiting for. Either way, Nintendo will hopefully announce something for the fans.

Uncharted 4

The safe bet here is Uncharted 4, not only because it has already been teased but because at almost every awards show Uncharted or Naughty Dog has always showed something. However, the good stuff might be saved for PSX (PlayStation Experience) which will literally be the day after the awards.

What do you think will be announced? What are you getting your hopes up for? Let us know in the comments.
