In this new video from Naughty Dog we get a full look at the new Photo Mode that was revealed recently for The Last of Us Remastered. The mode lets you get beautiful shots of the characters and scenery featured in the upcoming PS4 remake. The game already looked great on the PS3, so upping it to 1080p on the PS4 should result in some amazing pictures.

At any time while playing the game, other than a cutscene, you can press L3 and immediately enter Photo Mode. From here you can position the camera, and use various options to alter the shot. There are color filters that totally change the image, or just retouch it depending on how intense you make the effect.

Frames can be added, to alter the dimensions of the image, or use the Vignette feature to give it an beat-up feel. Film grain can be added, and a brightness setting can lighten or darken the final image. Depth of field editing even allows you to change what is in focus for the picture.

Once you’ve finally got the shot you want, you can clear the HUD off the screen. After that you just need to hit the PS4 controller’s Share button to save the image and share it with your friends. Check out the finished product from the video below:

The video closes with a not-so-subtle hint that your pictures could become pretty important later on. A photo contest will probably happen some time shortly after launch. What purpose the contest will serve, and what prizes might be offered are still up for debate. Keep checking Attack of the Fanboy for more info as it becomes available.

The Last of Us Remastered will be released on July 29th exclusively for Playstation 4.
