The Witcher 3 on Xbox One Working Again for Digital Owners

Earlier today owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Xbox One were caught by surprise when their digital copies of the game started throwing an error message at them, blocking the game from being launched from the Xbox Dashboard.

The game had been giving users the Error Code 0x87de2726, but apparently the game is working once again. Whatever issues was causing the error has been fixed, and it didn’t need an update on the game to have it working again. Numerous users on the Xbox Support Forums, and our local test on our digital copy of the game sees it accessible here around 9:30 PM CT.

Microsoft hasn’t said what caused the error, but fortunately it was remedied fairly quickly. The Xbox Live Status Page reads that access to The Witcher 3 is still limited so it’s unclear if the issue will persist and whether or not this fix has rolled out to everyone. Social and Gaming features for Xbox Live are also listed as Limited at this time.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released just a short while ago to critical acclaim.  Our own Emily Speight gave it a 4.5/5 in our review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
