While initial reviews of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from CD Projekt Red have been largely positive, a number of critics who reviewed the game noted performance issues, specifically in terms of the game’s frame rate.

These frame rate issues apply specifically to the PlayStation 4 version, as debug code was apparently the  method of delivery for these early reviews.  So does that mean that the PS4 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have issues at launch?  Not likely says the developer.

According to CD Projekt’s Marcin Momot,  who claims that “Framerate and performance have already been improved,” confirming that a day one patch for the game will fix bugs and performance issues that reviewers noted for The Witcher 3 on PS4.

We’ll have to wait and see if purchasers of the game run into the same problems that reviewers did. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out on May 19th.
