Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is aiming to take advantage of the higher system specs on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Eidos says that there are plenty of visual upgrades added into these versions of the game, and that its been built from the ground up. These upgrades come in the form of a full-priced purchase. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is a $60 game, regardless of whether you purchased Tomb Raider last year, or not.

In an official questions thread on the game’s forums, Eidos addressed a number of questions that fans have been asking. When posed the questions of whether or not there would be an upgrade program like the ones found in the launch titles for the Xbox One and PS4, Eidos says no.

“Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is not participating in an upgrade program. The game will retail for $59.99 in North America.”

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will not be arriving on PC, either. Eidos made no mention of their reasoning behind skipping a PC update of the Definitive Edition. You can find the full FAQ at the Eidos forums.
