The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 won’t have any online multiplayer.

Activision confirmed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will have no online multiplayer for last-gen consoles to VideoGamer. This is unlike the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game that feature “seamless online multiplayer”.

Activision didn’t give a reason as to why Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 lacks online multiplayer for PS3 and Xbox 360, It could be because more people play games on PS4 and Xbox One now. Many publishers and developers may not want to bother maintaining servers for games that may have a small online community.

Hopefully with the lack of online multiplayer in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers can enjoy offline multiplayer instead. Robomodo developed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD a few years ago, but that game criminally didn’t include offline multiplayer of any kind. It will be disappointing if Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 on PS3 and Xbox 360 is a single player only game.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be out later this year for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will go back to the series’ roots offering a more old-school feel reminiscent of the first four games of the franchise.
