In a move most likely meant to generate interest among gamers in the upcoming Transformers film, Activision has unveiled a trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, releasing in 2014.
The game will feature the return of many fan favorites such as Optimus Prime, voiced again by Peter Cullen, as well as the option to play as either Autobots or Decepticons, allowing the player to fight to save the Earth or to destroy it. Players will also be able to experience the Transformers as depicted in the films alongside their more traditional counterparts.
According to a report by Joystiq, Rise of the Dark Spark is not being developed by High Moon Studios, the company responsible for the popular Cybertron games of the past several years. Instead, developer Edge of Reality will take over the project while Double Dragon Neon developer WayForward will develop a 3DS version.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and PC, according to the trailer, courtesy of IGN.
