Uncharted 3 will not feature single player DLC to further the story post-release. With story telling being one of their strong suits, it might come as a surprise that Naughty Dog isn’t looking to capitalize on this portion of the game, but it seems that they have a good reason. The studio says that they’d rather be working on their next game.
Apparently, the amount of labor that it takes to put together a single peice of DLC in the single player portion of the game is significant. Probably because “Dialing back our ambition is difficult” said Arne Meyer of Naughty Dog. Judging by the quality of the Uncharted 3 single player experience, it’s easy to see how this could be a problem.
Don’t think that Naughty Dog will be abandoning Uncharted 3 after release. The company has plans for post-release support of the game, with cooperative and other multiplayer content scheduled to arrive after November 1st, just don’t expect more single player goodness..
