Uncharted 4 Isn’t Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Only Competition

Crystal Dynamics feels there are more games Rise of the Tomb Raider is competing against other than Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Creative director for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Noah Hughes, was recently interviewed by Spanish magazine Hobby Consolas. In the latest issue that is available this month, Hughes says that “Nathan Drake is not our only competitor“.

Hughes went on to say that Crystal Dynamics also looks at the great work from “many other studios” too. He did say he and his team have a great respect for Naughty Dog, but they want to offer something unique with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Hughes also described Rise of the Tomb Raider as a more wide open video game. He didn’t want to share too much, but it sounds like the game will have bigger areas for you to explore. The power of the Xbox One console is sure to make the game look bigger and prettier than the previous game.

Hughes is correct pointing out that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End isn’t Rise of the Tomb Raider’s only competitor. Both games will be out in Holiday 2015 and many game publishers choose to release their games during that time. There are of course the annual Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed games, but EA is also bringing in Star Wars: Battlefront this year.
