Uncharted is quite possibly the most reknowned franchise on the PlayStation 3.  After offering a solid offering with Uncharted & and then an award winning experience in Uncharted 2, Sony and Naughty Dog set the bar extremely high for other games to meet.  Uncharted 2 offered stunning visuals, and cinematic set pieces that have yet to be matched this generation.  As you can imagine, with this success, Naughty Dog secured a strong following for the franchise.

When Sony’s NGP was announced, Uncharted for NGP was announced as well, a no brainer for a sure fire hit for the handheld.  Not many details have been announced about the title, but recently, Arne Meyer of Naughty Dog gave us the first details about Drake’s portable adventure.  Keep in mind, Naughty Dog isn’t developing Uncharted for the NGP, but it’s in good hands with Bend Studio.

“Bend Studio is really the best bet for any info related to the Uncharted NGP game, but I couldn’t help but want to jump in and mention that the NGP storyline is set sometime before Drake’s Fortune (not a prequel). Reason we’re making the distinction is that it’s not a direct lead-in to the story of Drake’s Fortune, which many people would expect if you said prequel.”

Meyer also made some distinctions between what gamers are familiar with in the Uncharted series, and what the NGP version will offer.  The game is said to be defined withing the “same category”, but will have fewer gunfights to focus on exploration.
