Atlus has confirmed today that they will release the latest project of the famed developer Vanillaware in Western countries. Titled 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, the game represents a ruputure of the studio and its previous work, featuring a modern setting and a amore anime-inspired artstyle.

The studio responsible for Dragon’s Crown or Odin Sphere describes their new project with this text on the official website: A departure from the studio’s traditional fantasy style, the game takes place in a modern setting punctuated with giant mechs. Although the world may be bleak, Vanillaware’s signature artistic shine and gorgeous aesthetics will bring the characters and story of 13 Sentinels to life.

While Atlus has not confirmed any platforms or release dates, the game was originally announced in Japan for PS4 and PSVita, so it is expected that it comes at least for PS4 in NA and Europe. Atlus is confirmed to showcase the game at E3, so we’ll probably get more details in a matter of days.
