The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, otherwise known as Season 3, started out with a massive two episode release in December 2016. This left players wondering how long they’d have to wait for Episode 3, which promised further exploration of the new characters introduced in the last couple of episodes. According to Telltale Games’ Job Stauffer, don’t expect it to arrive this month, though news might be coming in February of a possible release date.

On Twitter Stauffer explained that The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 3 “won’t be this month, should let folks down easy on that – but we hope to have news in February. Big episode! Worth the wait.” He went on to explain that the two episode premiere did impact their schedule, saying “Yeah. Having a two-part premiere kind of puts us at a slightly unusual rollout. Definitely working in a lot of fan feedback for Ep 3, too!”

He further discussed elements of the upcoming episode, which seems to have a very interesting scene with series mainstay Clementine. “Catching up on #TheWalkingDead – SUPER excited about the feedback over the holidays! Clem has an Ep3 scene that literally broke me. Fact,” explained Stauffer.

It was actually surprising to see how little Clementine factored into the major events of the first two episodes of TWD: A New Frontier. While Telltale didn’t lie in saying that the game would feature two playable characters, Clementine took a bit of a backseat role with her moments taking place as flashbacks to explain how she got here after the epic conclusion of The Walking Dead: Season 2.

If we can get further exploration of her character, what she’s been up to in the intervening years, and how she is faring in the very different world of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, then Episode 3 could be the best yet of this series.
