Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 3 has been coming for quite a while. We knew the game was being developed, but only got a tentative November 2016 release date very recently, along with the “A New Frontier” name reveal. Now an Australian retailer may have leaked the final, full release date for the series.

JB Hi-Fi has listed The Walking Dead – The Telltale Series: A New Frontier on Xbox One with a release date of November 15th, 2016. This date is a Tuesday, which is usually when Telltale releases its games. There is, of course, a 25% chance that they just guessed and got it right, but still, it’s worth putting on your calendar if you’re a big Telltale’s The Walking Dead fan.

This third season of the game jumps forward in time, giving us a much more grown up Clementine, along with some new characters. The world has changed as well, fitting in closer to the current time period of the comics, which are still releasing on a near monthly basis.

Fans of the series have largely been divided over the quality of the first and second seasons. The first was a masterpiece, and many feel that Season 2 lived up to that high standard. Others disagree, and are worried that Telltale has taken on more than they’re able to handle. The Michonne miniseries was a big disappointment for me, so I’m starting to worry as well. Still, the developer has been more than able to put out quality games at a nice pace. We’ll see if that holds up for The Walking Dead Season 3.
