Warzone Season 6 Trailer Teases Huge Map Changes and More

Activision has just released a brand new Call of Duty: Warzone trailer that announces the arrival of Season 6 and teasing massive changes to the Verdansk map that will drastically change the gameplay strategies of all players.

The Call of Duty: Warzone trailer reveals that Verdansk will no longer have the downtown area as it will be destroyed. Verdansk’s Downtown area will be taken out by a bomb that completely obliterates the area as seen in the new Warzone trailer.

The Downtown area is notoriously known as the most frustrating location on the Verdansk map. The main complaint regarding this area is its unnecessary complexity, the number of buildings that players have access to and can hide makes it too hard for bypasses to survive it due to the number of severe disadvantages. Downtown has also been the main go-to area for highly skilled players who are playing to win at the price of even their own enjoyment. It has way too many tall buildings that serve as great advantage points and camping spots with an excellent overview of the area that would undoubtedly give them the upper hand.

What makes matters even worse is the amount of cash and loot stored in that area that further encourages players to get used to playing in Downtown, gaining control over it, and holding it instead of moving to other areas which further encourages camping. The main problem with the area is that players are sometimes forced to get through it instead of simply going around it when the gas leaves them no choice, which in turn simply leaves the result of the match up to sheer luck.

These changes are inevitably going to change the nature of the map drastically. Fewer standing buildings mean fewer hiding spots and even fewer high-ground advantage points. Leftover rubble and semi collapsed buildings may still provide interesting new terrain that players of all skill levels will want to get control over. Downtown being ever so popular with the players, Activision has kept more or less untouched throughout all the season so far. However, since Season 6 is the last season in the Verdansk map, this provides the perfect opportunity for Activision to blow it up to challenge players to switch up their strategies as a last hurrah in this long-standing beloved map.

Call of Duty: Warzone is now available for free download on PC, Xbox Series X/S, as well as PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
