DICE has now given a reason why Star Wars Battlefront will not be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
Star Wars Battlefront’s community manager, Matthew Everett, said on Reddit:
“We could not achieve what we want to visually and with the gameplay functionality without the power of this generation’s consoles or a modern day PC.”
This is kind of sad news for PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. Those consoles never received any Star Wars Battlefront games of any kind. That whole generation missed out on many Star Wars games since the prequels ended during the PS2/Xbox era. Now the new movies are part of the PS4/Xbox One era.
There was a Star Wars Battlefront 3 in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, but the game sadly got cancelled. This news is further proof that last-gen consoles are never getting a Battlefront game of any kind.
It’s 2015 and it makes sense for DICE to concentrate all their efforts on Star Wars Battlefront on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. So far, the graphics look amazing. The graphics we have seen so far wouldn’t have been possible on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
If only own a PS3 or Xbox 360 and want to play Star Wars Battlefront, you may have to save up to buy a new console or upgrade your PC.
