Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is excited about the next generation, and why not? His company is making some of the biggest AAA games in the business right now, and Ubisoft are on top of their game with a number of popular franchises set to arrive. Better yet, it appears that he’s going to have someone to sell these games to when the Xbox One and PS4 launch in 2013.

According to the CEO, the Xbox One and PS4 are both seeing huge demand at retailers. Guillemot explained to investors that some retailers are seeing double the number of pre-orders that they saw in the last generation. “At the moment they are really getting more pre-orders than what they saw before,” said Guillemot.

Retailers have been turning the pre-order spikets off and on over the past few weeks due to demand. Depending on where you go, it’s quite hard to secure a launch day console for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One at this point.

This year’s launch of both consoles will see the arrival of a couple of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and Watch Dogs are both slated to release on current and next-gen consoles.
