The holidays are over, and Microsoft is getting back to business in updating the Xbox One dashboard. Â Preview members for the Xbox One dashboard can find a bunch of new features that will soon be available to all. Â The biggest of said features is the new “Game Hubs,” but dashboard preview participants will also find custom backgrounds, tile transparency options, and a number of expanded TV features.
Game hubs are described by Microsoft as “go-to centers for all sorts of interesting content around your favorite games.” Â In these game hubs, you can see which of your friends are playing specific games, compete with them on leaderboards, browse clips and broadcasts, as well as follow top players and “MVPs.” You can check out hubs through the My games and Apps section of the dashboard.
Custom Backgrounds and Tile Transparency is fairly self explanatory, and a feature that many have been requesting for a more personalized aesthetic.  In an update on the Major Nelson Blog, the Xbox spokesperson says that not all images can be used on the dashboard due to “usage rights/restrictions for certain images.”
