Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break may be an entirely new game from Remedy Entertainment, but it first came to be from an old draft from Alan Wake.

Express UK had a chance to speak with Quantum Break’s creative director, Sam Lake, on how the game came into being after the studio finished working on Alan Wake.

Lake confirmed with Express: “Part of the idea does come from an old draft of Alan Wake, a version of the story that was more fragmented, more a series of different stories he had written

Lake tweaked some ideas and looked into the concept. After toying with the idea and changing things around, he found himself  with a new game idea which became Quantum Break.

Express also talked with Thomas Puha who is Head of PR at Remedy. Puha confirmed that the game won’t have a linear and predictable story. He promises “there are plenty of twists and turns in the story“.

He later confirmed the game “is meant to be a big blockbuster kind of experience so it’s definitely easier to follow than Alan Wake“. Puha said Remedy has done a good job of not spoiling anything major about the game yet.
