The last few days have not been a good one for gamers, as both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live have been suffering long downtimes, which has kept people from accessing their new consoles and games they got for Christmas in many cases. The biggest problem has been for those wanting to play games like Destiny, which require online play to be used at all.
One of the weekly Destiny staples has been the merchant Xur, who only shows up every Friday and Saturday, but players have been unable to access the game for the most part, and in turn haven’t been able to get his items available this week. Luckily, Bungie has revealed that they are extending his stay this week.
In a forum post on the Bungie messageboard, Bungie’s DeeJ posted the following about Xur’s extended stay:
“Hey, Destiny Community.
We understand that Xur has been hard to reach for a lot of you this weekend, so we’re going to extend his stay. Our current plan is to allow him to remain in the Tower with his current inventory until Monday night at 10pm PST, just before the weekly reset. We’ll also keep an eye on the overall situation, and prolong the extension, as needed, for as long as is feasible.
Next week, Xur will return to his regular schedule, with refreshed inventory.
Thank you for your patience!”
The servers are still being very problematic on PlayStation 4 especially, so hopefully we will see improvement by Monday before Xur leaves this week.
