Starting next week, PlayStation 3 Skyrim players will see DLC arriving each week in Februrary. Tuesday, February 12th marks the release of the “Dragonborn” expansion, with Hearthfire and Dawnguard due to arrive on the platform in the following weeks.
All three of the game add-ons will be available at a discounted price during their first week on the PlayStation Store. These dates are currently only set in stone for North America, and Bethesda says that they’ll be announcing the release dates for other territories shortly. The Skyrim DLC will also arrive with title update 1.8, which prepares the add-on content for arrival. This update and expansions have been cleared by Sony’s Certification process, so it’s only a matter of Bethesda releasing the content to the public.
For PlayStation fans, we can finally close the book of this DLC fiasco for one of 2011’s most popular games. Citing quality concerns in 2012, Bethesda Game Studios announced that they weren’t sure if DLC would ever arrive on the PlayStation 3. To make up for the lengthy delay, Bethesda is marking the content down for those that pick up the content on its first week of release. Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn will all see 50% discounts on PSN.
