A Pennsylvania woman vanished in 2019 and her family spent nearly 7 years waiting for answers. Police say they finally found her

The remains of a woman missing since 2019 have been found near a creek in Pennsylvania, and a man is now facing murder charges. David Allen is currently held without bail in the Cumberland County Prison after authorities linked him to the death of Kimberly Gsell.

As reported by CBS News, the Middlesex Township Police Department confirmed the discovery of the remains on September 25, nearly seven years after Gsell was first reported missing. Gsell disappeared from the Rodeway Inn in Middlesex Township on September 29, 2019. Reports from the time indicated that she was last seen involved in an argument before she vanished.

Investigators acted quickly following the discovery of the remains. According to police, Allen reportedly admitted to killing Gsell just one day after the remains were located. The Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office utilized dental records and its Rapid DNA capabilities to confirm that the remains belonged to Gsell.

He will return to court later to address the charges

This case has reached a grim conclusion for the family members who spent years waiting for answers. Cumberland County District Attorney Seán M. McCormack addressed the outcome in an official statement. “Despite the reality that we faced, we were hoping throughout this investigation to be able to give her family good news that Kim would be found alive,” McCormack said.

He further added, “Unfortunately, the news we delivered to the family confirmed what many of us suspected, Kim has been dead from the moment she disappeared.” The details regarding the final location of the victim are particularly sobering. Criminal complaints indicate that Allen killed Gsell and subsequently buried her body along the bank of the Yellow Breeches Creek.

Allen is currently facing serious legal consequences, including charges of first-degree murder and strangulation. He is scheduled to return to court later to address these charges. The investigation into the disappearance of Gsell remained a priority for the Middlesex Township Police Department for years, but it seems it’s now coming to an end.
