PS3 Firmware 4.10 grants better browser

New firmware gives PS3 much needed browser improvements.

A new firmware update inbound for the PlayStation 3 is set to better the internet browser for the console. Upon downloading the update, you should see some fairly significant enhancements to the PlayStation 3 browser alongside the rebranding of the PSN to the SEN.

"Some websites that could not be displayed, including interactive websites, are now supported, and page layouts are now displayed with better accuracy," says the software notes.

Though installing the new update has shown to fudge up Netflix after application. A known workaround is re-install the app on the console. According to early testers, the PlayStation browser is now scoring significantly higher on numerous benchmarking tests.

Shitty browser is still shitty I tried it on my PS3 but then it YLOD so I threw it in the trash with the other three that broke on me. I shoulda signed up for the PS3 maintenence plan, everybody should, being that the PS3 is the biggest peice of garbage on the planet.

The browser is cleaner, faster and I had no issues with netflix directly after testing. Did that all this morning and gotta say Browsing the internet on my big screen TV; wirelessly from my couch is a great thing. Everything has a browser; EVERYTHING that is important that is.
I mean if you paid $60/year for online play you would think that you wouldn’t be left behind in a major feature like browsing the internet.
Oh well, those dumb fk xbots can buy a PS3 or Wii to browse on their big screen TV. Of course there’s only 2 ways to browse in HD on your HDTV. PC or PS3.
Funny how PC, Wii and PS3 are the best of the best yet xbots just hold onto that overheating; disk scratching turd they got; hoping that M$ telling them as they get ass raped that some day things will be better on xbox.

I use logitech revue /google tv to browse, far superior to playstation or wii, but not as good as a dedicated pc. I but to be honest, usually I watch tv and browse on my tablet or laptop, and I think you guys are way over exgerating that ps3 browser, highly doubt it’s being used that much.

I fuckin love this update…ive always use psn internet browser.you just gotta know how to use it…i usually watch alot of shows on different websites on it,or i go on youtube or facebook its just cool.and its lovely because its on my 40 inch flat screen :)

ps3 browser now puts websites into proper widescreen so it fits the TV better when u max scale it. it runs perfect now

Runs perfect now? It just took 5 years to fix. I honestly do not think Sony would invest anything on psn if it wasn’t for Xbox forcing them to add or update items to stay competitive.

lol i feel bad for you paul. playing with a console that doesn’t even have a browser, cheap hardware, and lack of features. youtube has been working flawlessy even before the update, not to mention the browser too (i use it alot and now it’s even better!). maybe the next xbox will be able to catch up with the rest of us
