Three Grand Theft Auto 5 protagonists revealed in cover art

It looks like Grand Theft Auto 5 will feature three playable central characters in its campaign, according to the cover of the latest Game Informer magazine. We’ve seen a couple of these new characters in the concept art for the game, which has been released sporadically since Rockstar began taking pre-orders for GTA V.

The character on the far right appears to be the character narrating the reveal trailer that was released a year ago.  The other two characters look like they’ve been revealed in the concept art mentioned above.   Whether or not these new characters end up linking back to the rumors that recently surfaced, we’ll have to wait and see.

So how will these three new characters play into the Grand Theft Auto 5 story? Game Informer’s tease sounds pretty vague, saying that the new characters will be used in “groundbreaking ways” in the “biggest open world that Rockstar has created to date.”

The full reveal is slated for later this afternoon.  Grand Theft Auto is due for a Spring 2013 release.
