Sia’s Husband Wants $77K Monthly Child Support And Claims She’s Unfit, Then She Drops A Bombshell About His Past

Custody battle turns ugly.

Singer Sia and her estranged husband Daniel Bernard are in a heated fight over who should take care of their one-year-old son, Somersault Wonder Bernard. The two split up earlier this year after being married for just two years, and now they are both making some pretty serious claims about each other in court.

According to TMZ, Daniel has gone to court asking to be the only parent in charge of their son. He says Sia has problems with drugs and alcohol that make her dangerous to be around their child. He also says he is a doctor who has never been in trouble with the law and does not have any addiction issues.

Daniel wants the court to make Sia take drug tests whenever they ask her to. He also wants her to only see their son for two hours at a time, three times each week, with someone watching them. On top of that, he is asking Sia to pay him $77,245 every month for child support. He says he has not been working because Sia stopped giving money to a company they ran together called Modern Medicine, so now he depends on her for money.

Wait, There’s More To This Story

Sia is fighting back with some shocking claims of her own. She says there is no real emergency that means Daniel should get full custody right away. She points out that back in August 2025, they both agreed that Daniel could only see their son with someone professional watching because police were looking into something very serious.

Sia says police found illegal child pornography on Daniel’s computer. She wanted someone to watch his visits after she found out about this investigation. Daniel says he had nothing to do with it and thinks Sia set him up to keep him away from their son. This kind of situation has come up in other celebrity custody cases where parents have made serious accusations, though every family’s problems are different.

Sia is also responding to what Daniel said about her drug use. She says she has not used drugs or alcohol for more than six months now. She admits she had problems with substance abuse about 15 years ago, but says getting clean and staying clean has been really important to her ever since. She thinks Daniel is trying to use her past against her to make her look bad.

Sia says she has been willing to take drug tests and wanted Daniel to take them too, but he would not agree to regular testing. She knows the investigation into Daniel is now over and closed, but she still worries about letting him spend time alone with their son. She is okay with him having more time with their child as long as someone like his mother or a nanny is there with them.

The Unstoppable singer ended their marriage in March because they could not work things out. This is the second time she has gotten divorced. Her first marriage to Erik Lang ended back in 2016. The music world has seen other stars going through relationship changes lately, but Sia’s case involves particularly tough custody issues. A few weeks ago, Daniel also asked the judge to make Sia pay him more than $250,000 each month in spousal support.
