People are finding strange handwritten messages inside their mac and cheese, and it’s way weirder than you think

Who's doing this and why?!

A TikTok creator just shared something really odd that has been happening to shoppers. Some people are opening boxes of Goodles pasta and finding weird handwritten notes inside. These are not normal messages. They have strange symbols, confusing phrases, and talk about conspiracy theories.

According to Daily Dot, the TikTok user @dandydemon said this seems to happen mostly on the East Coast, especially in Pennsylvania. She explained that after someone posted about finding a note in their mac and cheese box, more people started sharing similar stories. It looks like this problem is bigger than anyone thought. These notes have also been found in other dry food products.

People online are really interested in this whole thing. One person even said “I would do anything to get a Schuylkill note” because they find it so fascinating. The mystery behind these messages has gotten a lot of attention.

This weird trend has actually been around for a while

These notes are called Schuylkill notes, and they have been showing up for almost 10 years. The name comes from Schuylkill County in Pennsylvania, where people first started finding them back in 2015. The messages talk about conspiracy theories and secret societies. Sometimes they mention famous people like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Oprah.

These notes have turned up in all kinds of places. People found them in sealed food packages and beauty products. Some hikers even discovered them stuck to trees on trails. The Food and Drug Administration looked into some of these cases, but nothing has really been solved. The notes usually do not make much sense and just leave people scratching their heads.

The whole thing with Goodles mac and cheese got attention when someone posted about it on Reddit. After that, more people started sharing their own stories. Reddit has become a popular spot where people post pictures of the notes they found. This is not the first time food products have created controversy online, but the Schuylkill notes are definitely one of the stranger cases.

Some people who saw the viral TikTok video had thoughts about what the notes really are. One commenter explained that “it’s called schuvlkill notes and it’s not new. it’s written in shorthand and not some mysterious cipher, schizophrenic isn’t really an adjective for this. the only recognized ‘problem’ is food tampering.” Another person simply said “this has been going over for years now lmao.”

Other people are worried about safety. One commenter wrote “Honestly, the buyers didn’t notice the tampering and at some point it’s on the company/manufacturers because why is it not only so easy to do but almost unnoticeable?”

Some folks shared that they found similar notes years ago in candy or clothes from thrift stores in Pennsylvania. Nobody knows who is putting these notes in random places or why they keep doing it. The whole situation keeps getting attention online, similar to other viral food service controversies that people cannot stop talking about.
