Trump’s grocery store problem just got worse, and it goes way beyond cereal and bread this time

He's clearly never been to a grocery store.

President Donald Trump keeps saying he has made grocery prices cheaper for Americans. But this is not true, even though he says it over and over. During a recent interview, Trump got angry when the interviewer told him the real facts about grocery costs.

Trump has always had a weird way of talking about groceries. Back in April, he called “groceries” an old word that is beautiful. He talked about it like people might not know what it means. He said it means “a bag with different things in it,” even though everyone already knows this word.

According to MSNBC, Trump said something that shows he does not know how people buy food at stores. He was talking to Senate Republicans about voter ID laws. Trump said, “All we want is voter ID. You go to a grocery store, you have to give ID. You go to a gas station, you give ID. But for voting, they want no voter ID.”

A man of the people he is not

Trump has said wrong things about buying everyday products before. Back in 2018, he said people need to show ID to buy cereal. That is not true. Later, he also said people need ID to buy bread. That is also wrong.

The truth is that millions of people in America buy food at grocery stores every week without showing any ID at all. What Trump said shows he does not understand how normal people live. This is strange because he has been in politics for 10 years now and has been president for five years.

The timing of what Trump said makes him look even more out of touch. Just last week, many American families were dealing with higher costs for health care and losing help to buy food. At the same time, Trump left his big house to go play golf at one of his expensive clubs.

Before he left, he spent time showing off a fancy new bathroom he put in the White House. It has marble and even has a light hanging over the toilet. Then he went to Florida and had an expensive party with rich people. All of this happened while the government was shut down and he was not doing much to fix it.

People who disagree with Trump say his actions and words make it clear he does not understand regular Americans. While families are having a hard time paying for basic things, Trump is busy with fancy bathrooms and golf trips.

And he keeps saying wrong things about how shopping works. This kind of behavior has come up before, like when he gave a rare honest answer about what went wrong on election night and when he explained why he thinks Republicans lost recent elections.
