Mark Epstein, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, has found himself having to clear up some confusion about an old email that recently leaked online. The email talked about photos of Donald Trump “blowing Bubba,” and when people saw it, most of them jumped to the same conclusion.
They thought he was talking about Bill Clinton, since Clinton has been called Bubba for years. According to TMZ, however, that’s not what Mark meant at all, and now he’s trying to fix the misunderstanding before it gets even more out of hand.
Mark spoke to the media and made it very clear that people got it wrong. He said, “The reference to ‘Bubba’ in this correspondence is not, in any way, a reference to former President Bill Clinton.” So if it wasn’t Clinton, then who was it? According to Mark, Bubba is just “a private individual who is not a public figure.” In other words, it’s nobody famous and nobody the public would know.
Just brothers joking around, nothing serious
Mark also wants everyone to know that the email was never supposed to be a big deal in the first place. He said the messages “were simply part of a humorous private exchange between two brothers and were never meant for public release or to be interpreted as serious remarks.” Basically, he’s saying it was just him and his brother messing around, and nobody was supposed to see it.
Even though Mark is trying to brush it off as a joke, the situation isn’t dying down. House Republican leaders are planning to hold a vote on whether to force the Justice Department to release all of its files about Jeffrey Epstein. A lot of lawmakers think the public deserves to know more about what the government knows about Epstein’s connections.
Trump is also catching heat over this whole thing. Harvey Levin and Mark Geragos talked about it on their podcast 2 Angry Men, and they didn’t hold back. Both of them said Trump is hurting his own reputation by refusing to support the release of the Epstein files.
They think his pushback makes it look like he’s hiding something, and a lot of other people feel the same way. If there’s nothing to worry about, why fight so hard to keep the files locked up?
The leaked emails and all the confusion about who Bubba really is have just added more fuel to the fire when it comes to public curiosity about Jeffrey Epstein’s circle. Mark might say it was all just brotherly banter, but once something like this gets out, it’s hard to control the story.
People are going to keep asking questions. Whether those Justice Department files actually get released is still up in the air, but Trump is facing more and more pressure to stop standing in the way.
