Trump completely loses it over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance, claiming it is a ‘slap in the face’ to the US

Crazy late-night ramblings.

President Trump certainly wasn’t holding back about Super Bowl LX’s halftime show, immediately slamming the performance by Bad Bunny as “one of the worst, EVER!,” as reported by The Hill. The president took to Truth Social to vent his significant frustration over the performance, which was delivered mostly in Spanish, calling the entire spectacle an “affront” to the country’s greatness.

Trump wrote that the show “makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.” The president then zeroed in on the language barrier and the choreography. He openly argued that “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

President Trump concluded his tirade by calling the entire event a “slap in the face” to the United States. He also used the moment to boast about the current economic climate, claiming America is “setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!”

It’s interesting to see such a strong dismissal of an artist who is, by all metrics, a global superstar

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is absolutely massive right now. While his music is predominantly in Spanish, his global reach is staggering, proving his appeal transcends language. Bad Bunny was the most-streamed artist on Spotify in 2025, and he’s held that top spot on listeners’ “Wrapped” playlists for the past four years running. Plus, he just took home a Grammy award last week for album of the year for his hit album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

The president wasn’t done with just the halftime show, though. He took a swipe at the media, saying the show would “get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.” He even managed to throw in a critique of the sports league itself, demanding that “the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule.” He signed off the post with his famous rallying cry, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

It seems like the organizers knew this performance might not appeal to everyone, because there was already counter-programming available. Turning Point USA announced it would host an entirely separate event called “The All-American Halftime Show.” This alternative show, which featured President Trump ally Kid Rock, was intended to celebrate “American faith, family, and freedom.”
