A newly released federal document regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s death contains a statement announcing his death in prison was actually dated August 9, 2019, a full day before he was officially found unresponsive in his cell on August 10, 2019, as reported by The Standard. This is absolutely wild and immediately fuels all the existing speculation about the circumstances surrounding his death.
The document in question was released by the Department of Justice as part of the latest batch of the Epstein Files. It describes Epstein being found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre (MCC) in Manhattan, where he was subsequently declared deceased. However, the date stamped on the statement is August 9, 2019. Prison records clearly indicate that a corrections officer only found him at 6:30 AM on August 10, 2019, while delivering breakfast.
This date anomaly is guaranteed to restart some serious conversations about transparency, especially considering the catalogue of prison failures surrounding the event. Manhattan US Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman issued the statement dated August 9, 2019 “Earlier this morning, the Manhattan Correctional Centre confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein, who faced charges brought by this Office of engaging in the sex trafficking of minors, had been found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
It just doesn’t sit right that the government already had a press release confirming his death printed and dated the day before he was officially discovered
“Today’s events are disturbing, and we are deeply aware of their potential to present yet another hurdle to giving Epstein’s many victims their day in Court. To those brave young women who have already come forward and to the many others who have yet to do so, let me reiterate that we remain committed to standing for you, and our investigation of the conduct charged in the Indictment,” the statement continued.
The context of his death involves a chain of catastrophic oversights at the MCC. The inquiry into the event found that guards who were supposed to be monitoring Epstein completely skipped routine checks throughout the night. They missed scheduled rounds at both 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM.
Adding to the chaos, two surveillance cameras positioned right outside Epstein’s cell somehow “malfunctioned,” creating huge, inexplicable gaps in the monitoring footage of the area. After he was finally discovered at 6:30 AM, medical personnel tried to revive him, but he was declared deceased soon after. Adding another layer of strangeness, an official time of death was never actually established.
Ultimately, the New York City medical examiner ruled Epstein’s death a suicide by hanging. Epstein was facing incredibly serious charges when he died. Prosecutors had accused him of running a massive sex trafficking operation involving underage girls over a number of years, drawing multiple women forward from across the world to describe their abuse. He faced counts of sex trafficking minors and conspiracy, meaning he was looking at decades in prison if found guilty.
