Dave Portnoy slammed the Olympics for ditching baseball, then ripped into what he called the ‘dumbest sports’

Though things are looking heated as the entrepreneur and famous social media personality Dave Portnoy has called out the Olympic committees for not including Baseball in the event.

On a podcast, David Portnoy declared that it’s odd for Olympic committees not to have baseball included. He declared that most of the countries that compete in the Olympics have baseball teams, and some of them are even capable of winning, but despite all the interest, the committee seems unenthusiastic about including it in the Olympics.

Portnoy’s exact words were, “Shame on the Olympics… How stupid do you have to be to be on the Olympic committee and you have some of the most ridiculous, dumbest, stupidest sports… and you don’t have baseball?!” His frustration has led to sharp comments, which have made him call out other sports. But it looks like watching baseball at the event is on many people’s wishlists.

Despite Dave’s concerns, baseball can return in the 2028 Olympics

With the backlash from fans and the media aside, baseball is reportedly returning to the Olympics at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The sport was part of the Olympics from 1992 to 2008, then returned in 2020, but has remained absent from the event since. Given its exclusion from 2012, 2016, and 2024, the reports give promising insights that baseball will most likely return in 2028.
