Bill Belichick’s home renovation was supposed to be completely routine, but a shocking accident has one worker demanding $300K in damages

Bill Belichick is considered one of the most productive football coaches in the league. However, after his Hall of Fame snub, which even made Donald Trump unhappy, things don’t seem to go as planned for the coach. After a successful NFL career, Bill’s current NCAA isn’t going well, but now a $300,000 lawsuit is yet another trouble knocking on the coach’s door.

The lawsuit didn’t just emerge from an external accident, but rose from a scene that happened inside his Nantucket house. While the incident is recent, it’s not recent enough, as it took place back in June 2024. According to Fox News, a painter named Andrew Jackson, who was working at Belichick’s property, is suing the coach as he ended up with severe injuries when he slipped and fell in his house.

The painter, in his complaint, labeled Belichick’s property as a “dangerous and unsafe” work area because of the hazards that led him to a dangerous fall. In Jakcson’s view, the coach’s company failed to make the environment safe for the workers or didn’t warn the workers correctly, so they could have been careful themselves.

A $300,000 lawsuit for someone who is already having a tough time?

Tensions seem to surround Bill Belichick as the timing of this lawsuit is very off.  The coach’s current coaching career at the University of North Carolina (UNC) isn’t going as he had hoped for. The 2025 season ended with a disappointing 4-8 record, as his team missed a bowl game and absorbed several double-digit-point losses. Now, a $300,000 lawsuit is another challenge he’ll be facing during an already tough time.

​Andrew Jackson has sued Forty Five Fair Street LLC, which is managed by the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach. In his lawsuit, the painter has said, “construction practices created an unsafe work area for workers at the premises.” Highlight a clear concern about the site being an unsafe place for those who were helping with the renovation in his $4.8 million Nantucket property bought in the same year.

The lawsuit further mentioned, “As a direct and proximate result of the fall, plaintiff sustained serious bodily injuries including a severe right ankle injury, together with pain, disability, medical expenses, lost wages, and other consequential damages.”

“Defendant breached its duties by, among other things: a. causing, permitting, or allowing unsafe conditions to exist at the premises; b. failing to maintain the work area in a reasonably safe condition; c. failing to inspect the premises adequately; d. failing to remedy hazardous conditions it knew or should have known about; e. failing to warn Plaintiff of dangerous conditions; and f. otherwise acting negligently in the ownership, operation, management, supervision, maintenance, and control of the premises.”

This way, the lawsuit mentions unsafe measures taken on the site, including the consequences that the painter has faced. It is too early to say whether this lawsuit looks promising, but if things go in the victim’s favor, Belichick will have to pay around $300,000 in damages.
