EverQuest Next on PS4 is not a priority for Sony

Sony Online Entertainment recently unveiled Everquest Next, an MMO that is destined for PC.   This next chapter for Everquest could find a home on the PS4 some day, but it’s not currently the main focus for the game’s developers.

“We’re very serious about this being a PC-oriented launch,” said Everquest Producer David Georgeson to Eurogamer.  “You’re dumb not to explore other options with a business of this type, but we’re very serious about developing for the PC.”

With some other SOE franchises hitting the PS4, Everquest seems like a natural fit.  Perhaps SOE will wait and see how well Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online appeal to PS4 players as free-to-play titles?

Everquest Next was recently announced by Sony as a next generation MMO with destructible environments.  We recently took a look at the game’s new Landmark feature, which allows players to create and build within the game world.

It’s unclear when Everquest Next will arrive on PC.
