Naughty Dog has revealed their plans for The Last of Us DLC.   The DLC will come in three parts, with two of them being centered around the multiplayer experience.  As for the single player aspect, Naughty Dog says that the DLC ties into the narrative of the original release, and will introduce a new character which Naughty Dog has recently finished casting.    The single player content will be available in early-2014.

The first content to expect will be multiplayer though with additional maps added to the game in the “Abandoned Territories Map Pack” on October 15th.  Here’s a quick description of the multiplayer content from ND.

“Weather the opposing Faction and the random, dynamic dust storm on the Suburbs map. Explore a layered map of an overgrown urban environment with wild giraffes in the background in the Bus Depot map. Stalk around in a dark, eerie, moonlit, environment – the perfect setting for some serious stealth – in the Hometown map. Bookstore features a stacked, bi-level layout adding a highly unique dose of vertical gameplay.”

Further down the line in 2014, more multiplayer content is on the way, but Naughty Dog had nothing to share about it at this time.

The Last of Us players can currently purchase the Season Pass for $19.99 and get access to all three parts.
