If you’ve been playing along at home, you’ve likely heard rumors coming from all angles that the Xbox One is going to launch with a number of significant problems. It’s been rumored that resolution for launch games like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 have been scaled down to 720p. Neither EA nor DICE has confirmed this rumor. Over the weekend, another rumor popped up on gaming forums that suggest that the Xbox One’s OS is “a complete mess” — with developers having a myriad of problems getting normally solid Xbox Live features to work on the console.

Anyone can post stuff to the web, says Spencer

An alleged “insider” claims that it could be “months” before Microsoft has these issues fixed, and they include “Things like parties dropping people when moving from one thing to another. Connectivity issues. Missed invites, and Friend Requests not working.”

Microsoft has since responded to these rumors. Phil Spencer, VP of Microsoft Game Studios didn’t come out and say this was untrue, but instead had this to say via Twitter. “Games are in certification now and we are playing SP & MP nightly. Anyone can post “stuff” to the web.

With three weeks to launch, it’s likely to be a rocky ride when it comes to rumors for the new consoles. Hold on to your hats, the Xbox One launches on November 22nd.
