Bioshock was long talked about to be coming to the Playstation Vita in some shape or form but after the disbandment of Irrational Games that slowly disappeared. Now Ken Levine was recently asked over Twitter about the project and he shed a little bit of light on the ordeal.

When speaking about the planned Vita game Ken Levine, the creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games said “2k and sony couldn’t put a deal together when I last checked. They seemed way more optimistic about this back in 2011.” citing the lack of movement on the project and overall feeling of vaporware around the game over Twitter. He concluded that thought with “Wish I could do it myself, but lawyers and all that. I still love my vita.” showing that he really did want it to be created.

Shortly after a fan asked what was his plan for the title that never came to be. Ken replied with ” I was thinking a Final Fantasy Tactics style thing set in pre-fall Rapture.” and elaborated even more by saying it would be, “something that would work well on the vita and not be a compromise in any way. also, as some know, i’m a turn based whore.” So there you have it. Bioshock on the Vita could have been a turn based pre-Rapture affair that could have had fans up in arms on the Playstation Vita. Hopefully, some day Ken will be able to make the game he intended.
