Dark Souls II: Scholar Of The First Sin is not just a cheap cash-in for Bandai Namco and From Software it is an opportunity to offer the community an enhanced and improved version than what is already available.
Dark Souls II has already had three downloadable content additions that add more gameplay and story depth to the base game. The Scholar Of The First Sin acts as a GOTY for Dark Souls II, offering everything including updated graphics and elements on next-gen consoles. This includes new mission strands and increased player capacity on next-gen consoles. Those who have played previous DLC’s can anticipate exactly how much content will be added with the Scholar Of The First Sin edition as it is on par with them. We spoke with Brian Hong, Director of Marketing for Dark Souls for Bandai Namco and he confirmed that on a bare bones playthrough it will take around 8-10 hours depending on skill level.
This shows that fans can expect a bevy on content on next-gen and if they are just getting their head wrapped around ‘Souls’ now is the best time to start.
Dark Souls II: Scholar Of The First Sin is set to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, April 7th, 2015.
