Kalypso Media has just released a brand new piece of downloadable content for the dictatorship styled strategy title, Tropico 5.

In an unusual move, El Presidente has decided to save the planet with the “Gone Green” DLC. The new content will allow players to turn the island they reign over into an eco-haven full of Wind farms, which provide a clean and renewable energy source. The DLC also comes with a new sandbox map, Isabella, a standalone scenario called “Catch the Toucan!” and a new eco avatar, styled with a ‘hippie’ haircut. Gamers will also notice outside of the gameplay that an additional music track is added and voice recordings that go with the new content.

In Tropico 5 players once again take up the role as El Presidente, the glorious leader of a remote island, aptly named Tropico. Whilst being dictator the player has a number of choices which can enable them to become a great leader. The decisions they make along the way can drastically change the outlook of the island and their populations’ happiness. However, who cares about a few complaining peasants when your own bank account is growing by the minute?

The ‘Gone Green’ DLC for Tropico 5 is now available for PC, Mac & SteamOS via Steam for £2.49/€2.99/$3.99.
