We cordially direct you to Beesbeesbees.com, which offers perhaps the keenest insight into Terraria’s impending patch 1.3. While we’ve summarized some of the juiciest bits of the patch below, the sheer volume of it means that a full readthrough of the patch notes is necessary to understand the scope of the changes and additions.

While the development team behind Terraria, Re-Logic, confessed that they did not have time to produce a trailer for the patch, they reached out to Youtuber Yrimir to provide them with one.

Debuting after the weekend, Re-Logic’s massive patch will add more than 800 new items to Terraria, a game already brimming with items and blocks of all kinds. A new biome called the Underground Desert will be making an appearance alongside several new mini-biomes, as well as new NPCs like the Skeleton Merchant (how spooky!) and the Tax Collector (terrifying!). Steam integration has also been promised, making the process of joining multiplayer games much more streamlined. Along with all this comes the massive tide of fixes, tweaks, and miscellany that any large patch entails.

Oh, and DIY grenades filled with angry bees. Did we forget that one? Because beenades are now craftable. We’ll have to wait for the patch itself to see the recipe, but it seems likely that crafting them will be much more efficient than repeatedly fighting the Queen Bee. Everybody’s getting bees!
