Dark Pit Amiibo Officially Confirmed As Best Buy Exclusive

Nintendo revealed a few months ago that the US would be receiving two amiibo as part of Wave 5a with Dark Pit and Palutena sometime in July. Rumors swirled that one or both would be retailer exclusives and with still no set release date, we’ve seemingly gotten confirmation that one of them is in fact exclusive to Best Buy.

Reports first started appearing that both Dark Pit and Palutena might be retailer exclusives, because they happened to be missing from the amiibo kiosks in stores that already had some coming in September. In combination with an in-store listing for Dark Pit in the Best Buy system, it was speculated that he would be exclusive to that store.

The in-store listing eventually was removed completely, but BestBuy.com added Dark Pit to their page last week and the rumors started again, though nothing mentioned that the product was exclusive. That has changed now, as can be seen with the picture on the right.

When searching for Dark Pit on BestBuy.com, the search results page that will come up has an image that said “Only @ Best Buy” written over Dark Pit himself. The actual page for Dark Pit doesn’t show any of this, but the image from the search page may have just been updated first.

With this one finally answered, the questions now are what date will Dark Pit be released and whether or not Palutena is a retailer exclusive as well.
