Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was once arguably the most anticipated game of the upcoming Holiday Season, but the game was delayed to early 2016. We got to see the game’s single player in action through a live demo during Sony’s E3 conference, but now it has been revealed just what framerate the game’s single player will run at when it releases.

Naughty Dog held an extended gameplay demo today that was followed by a Q&A. According to GameSpot, during this time it was revealed that the single player experience for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be locked at 30fps.

A number of the developers explained why they made this decision, including co-lead designer Anthony Newman detailing that they chose to go with what they felt would allow them to provide the best game possible.

The other co-lead designer Kurt Margenau believes that it would have been a mistake to go with a variable 60fps, as locked 30fps is always better than something that is variable.

Perhaps the biggest reason they gave was that going with 60fps would have led to them having to further optimize every environment, which could have impacted what they wanted to do with the story.

Uncharted: A Thief’s End will arrive exclusively for PS4 sometime in early 2016.
