The story mode for Minecraft has now been rated by PEGI giving us additional details from the new version of the game.

PEGI has rated the story mode for Minecraft called “The Order of the Stone”. The interesting part about the rating is that it suggests the game is appropriate for older kids.

PEGI suggests this version of the game is “suitable for persons aged 12 years and over only“. This is significant because the original version of the game is recommended for people aged 7 and up.

The only content that suggests the Minecraft Story Mode is more appropriate for older kids is because it contains “Mild bad language“. I’m not sure what they mean by “mild” bad language. Maybe they use sensitive alternatives like using “crap” instead of “s**t” and so forth.

The Minecraft Story Mode is the first time the series will be adding some type of narrative. The original game allowed players to make up their adventures as they did anything they wanted. The “Order of the Stone” story will add an actual plot and characters too.

This version of the game is being developed by TellTales Games. People will know them best for their award winning The Walking Dead games and more.
