New This Week in Video Games (8/2 – 8/8)

There really isn’t very much new this week in the realm of video games, with really only a few releases of note at all.

Rare Replay brings back many of the classic games from Rare’s backlog, including Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and so many more to count. At only $30, this is one that will attract a lot of attention for Xbox One owners this week.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is the sole Nintendo release of the week that has been announced so far, and serves as the one other physical release of the week, alongside Rare Replay.

PlayStation platforms are having one of the weakest weeks in recent memory, with only six digital games total that are all only on PS4. PS3 and PS Vita owners are completely out of luck this week, which is pretty unusual. Submerged is one of the games for PS4 coming out, which is coming out the same day for PC and later in the week for Xbox One as well.

There isn’t too much in the way of PC either this week, with a game like Fairy Fencer F being one of the few standouts.
