Before EA’s Star Wars Battlefront game comes out next month, there was Battlefront 3 in development a few years ago. Some unseen footage from the PC version has now been uploaded.

Battlefront 3 was in development by Free Radical to be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The game was set to be released maybe in 2008 or 2009. Sadly, the game never materialized and it never got made.

However, Free Radical did work on the game and some footage has been released online. Today’s new footage is from the PC version uploaded by ptoponline on YouTube.

If you watch the full video, you can see that this game was going to be a lot different from the version we’re getting from DICE and EA. This version of the game includes space battles and the prequels are also in it too.

Due to copyright reasons, no sound effects were added. Still, it gives you a good overview of Free Radical’s vision of Battlefront 3. It looked more to be a direct sequel to Battlefront 2. EA and DICE’s Battlefront is a reboot which is why there is not “3” in its title.

Are you disappointed that Battlefront 3 never got made?
