UPDATE:Â The issues have been resolved
343 Industries has revealed that many multiplayer components of Halo 5: Guardians are down at the moment, causing players to be stuck without online connectivity to the game. The particular systems that the developer listed as impacted are matchmaking, REQ, and the Service Record/Rank/Commendations. This means you will have trouble getting into a game due to matchmaking, but it also means your rank might be showing incorrectly, so don’t worry if you seem to have lost a bunch of progress.
Halo 5: Guardians was pretty unique when it launched late last month, as it was one of the few AAA titles to features an unbroken online experience right out of the gate. So many games these days launch in a broken state, whether from bugs or server overloads. Thankfully, due to some pretty intensive betas, Halo 5 launched without much of a problem, making it unfortunate to see any downtime hitting today.
Hopefully the team at 343 Industries can get things back up and running soon, so players can get back out onto the Warzone battlefield, or into an Arena match. We’ll post updates here when there is any news, so keep checking back to see when you can dive back in.
Halo 5: Guardians is available exclusively for Xbox One.
