Fallout 4 fans are seemingly outraged about some innocuous comments made by Bethesda’s Pete Hines regarding Fallout 4’s lore and realism in the popular role playing game. Â When asked about a specific quest in the game where players find a ‘Kid in a Fridge,’ and how this ghoul kid survived 200 years in a fridge without food or water, Hines gave a rather blunt response that prompted the type of uproar that you’ll only find on Twitter on a slow day.
“Not interested in discussing how realistic things are in an alternate universe post-apoc game w/talking mutants and ghouls,” Â said Hines.
This comment has apparently outraged Fallout 4 fans, who now claim that Bethesda doesn’t care about consistency or realism in their RPGs. Â So much so, that Hines had to clarify the comments, making sure that people know that BGS does indeed care about these things.
“Those things are super important, lore and consistency,” says Hines. “I got asked about a kid in a fridge.”
So why is there no lore associated with the kid in a fridge? Â Well according to Hines, “This isn’t about lore consistency. I’m pointing out a writer can have fun with a quest premise.”
