Minecraft fans await new updates like some people wait for their favorite movie to hit theaters, or, more accurately, for the bug guy to come to the house and kill all the cockroaches. As fun as the game is, and as long as it has been available, there are still a ton of bugs in the game, some newer than others. Today, players will get a new Minecraft update that seeks to address some of these.
The Minecraft update will be hitting all platforms for PlayStation and Xbox, meaning PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, and Xbox One specifically. This isn’t a huge update like 1.9 was for PC, instead this one just is looking to fix some bugs in the games, while adding in a new skin pack for players to buy.
The skin pack is the Biome Settlers Skin Pack 1, which has some cool looking new skins to use on your Minecraft characters. As far as what bugs are being fixed, it is a little dependent on the particular console you are playing on. However, there are a lot of similarities between them all.
Some of the highlights from PS4 and Xbox One include: Fix for MCCE #1460 & #910 – Guardians Not Spawning. Fix for MCCE #917 – Incorrect attack damage shown on tooltips with enchantments. Fix for MCCE #868 – Redstone clocks get stuck on when changing dimension. Fix for Animals in Love Mode lacking heart particles for the duration of Love Mode. Fix for Slimes spawning in the Nether.
Minecraft on consoles is still on version 1.8, which is actually very close to current for the PC version. However, 1.9 is currently available in pre-release form for PC, so some new features will be hitting for those players soon. Hopefully Mojang and 4J Studios can get the console versions, including Wii U which is very far back, up to date quickly.
