A well known industry insider says that folders will finally be coming to the PS4 console with system update 4.0. He didn’t specify when it will be coming yet though.
Insider, Tidux, tweeted out earlier today: “Folders is coming in FW 4.0 #PS4” Tidux has been reliable over information like this in the past so it could be true, but it’s categorized as a rumor until Sony confirms it.
With E3 2016 on the way in just one month’s time, it’s highly possible that Sony will be preparing a big PS4 update to excite its customers. After all, E3 is usually the time and place when all of the big announcements are made.
Folders have been a huge request among PS4 owners ever since the console first came out back in November 2013. Currently there is no way to categorize your favorite games or apps. Your game library is just lumped in alphabetic order and you have to find your favorite games manually.
Another feature that fans would like to see is custom wallpaper backgrounds. The only thing you can do right now is purchase themes on the PSN, but you cannot alter the background with any picture you like.
