Telltale Games has set the date for the full reveal of The Walking Dead Season 3. The full event will happen this Sunday, June 12th. Of course, this is sort of the first day of E3 2016, with EA and Bethesda holding their press conferences on that day, so it makes sense for Telltale to reveal this info then.
“This Sunday, we’ll be revealing a sneak peek at the all-new season of The Walking Dead – The Telltale Series,” says the announcement. “There’s been a lot of speculation since the conclusion of the previous season in 2014 on where the story will go next… and we’ve been working hard in the studio as well as with Robert Kirkman and our friends at Skybound to take the series in an unexpected direction. What we can tell you now is that this new season will serve as both a bold new entry point for the story, as well as a continuation of the saga that began with Lee and Clementine in 2012.”
The idea of this serving as a new entry point to the story might have longtime fans worried that Telltale is veering away from the Clementine arc that we’ve dedicated the last two games to. Rumors have stated that the story will be taking a big leap forward in time, putting it somewhere closer to the current comic timeline. We should find out much more at the event on Sunday.
The Walking Dead Season 3 reveal will take place on IGN on Sunday, June 12th at 6pm Eastern Time. The game is set to release this Fall.
