Sony’s E3 2015 press conference was amazing because it finally revealed that Square Enix was going to make Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Sadly, 2016’s press conference showed us absolutely nothing about the game. There is a reason for this because the game is still far from complete.
Famitsu had a chance to interview Tetsuya Nomura at E3 2016 this week and Nomura gave a little update on the status of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It sounds like it’s still very early in its development stages.
Nomura basically says that it’s still quite a while until the game is complete which is why we didn’t hear anything about the game this week. He says Square Enix should be sharing more news about the game in the near future so look out for it. He will personally announce any big developments to the public.
The good news is that Nomura confirms that development for the game is going at a steady pace, so hopefully the first part of the game shouldn’t take that long to finish. As you may know already, the game will be released in multiple parts so we won’t have to wait too long in order to have our first taste of it.
Hopefully we get some good news about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake in time for the original game’s 20th anniversary in 2017. It will be fitting for Square Enix to do something big in 2017 to mark the big occasion.
