Final Fantasy 15 is set to include a new feature that hasn’t really been used in other Final Fantasy games before. Square Enix is putting a “Wait Mode” which basically pauses the game to allow you to strategize during combat.

Square Enix revealed this new mode during a livestream for Final Fantasy 15 at E3 2016 this week. It allows you to freeze time during combat so you can target a specific enemy or devise a better plan of attack. It may also help you if you are getting hammered all of the time.

In order to use the Wait Mode, you can use it by selecting it in the pause menu. The Wait Mode is somewhat of a new feature to please those that liked the old turn-based combat system. It is also being included in order to make the game easier for beginners. You can use it to target weak spots of enemies and more.

The Wait Mode is also helpful so you can tell your comrades how to attack, or you can chuck magic more accurately. If you think the Wait Mode is too easy, you can just turn it off in the options and choose the active combat system instead.

The Wait Mode in Final Fantasy 15 will be in the final game, so people at E3 have yet to experience it. It will be interesting to see how many people use this feature. You can expect to see the game out in store shelves on September 30th, 2016.
